Induction Ceremony
In 1990, twenty of the greatest legends of the global motorsports community were enshrined in a ceremony befitting their accomplishments. In a formal affair hosted by the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and Museum, the inductees, their families, and the world learned the true meaning of the Hall of Fame’s creation. This inaugural induction attracted a sold-out crowd of 800 people. This event is now held in the SPEED Channel Dome with crowds of 1,200 to 1,500 as the norm for this elegant event. The evening includes the Driver of the Year reception, a formal dinner and the induction ceremony.
For those on hand, and for all who have and will visit in days and years to come, the gala and the Hall of Fame serve to remind that those who dream and who pursue with diligence can ascend to greatness.
The annual International Motorsports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is held each year on the grounds of the museum to honor those men and women chosen for induction from among the greatest names in all of motorsports. The black-tie optional event consists of a reception, banquet and awards ceremony held each year on the Thursday evening prior to the spring Talladega race.
