The Policemen were 2-0 up thanks two goals from Aleksey Ugarov and Maksim Soloviev, both scored when their opponents were on powerplay.

Loko’s Andrey Kiryukhin managed to get one back two-and-a-half minutes from the end of the final period, 2-1.

But it was all the last year’s runners-up could achieve on the night, as Yury Babenko scored into an empty net, sealing the deal for MVD, 3-1.

“Our opponents created three chances and scored three goals on Friday. But we just couldn’t find the net. This is the reason for Lokomotiv’s loss. I can’t say that MVD’s netminder was great, we just couldn’t hit the target,” Aleksey Mikhnov, Loko forward, told KHL’s official website.

The decisive Game Seven is to take place on MVD ice on Sunday.

Defending champions Ak Bars are battling for supremacy against Salavat Yulaev in the other Last Four series.
