    "The 11+"


    "The 11+" is a complete warm-up package for football players. The programme was developed by an international group of experts. In a scientific study, it was shown that female youth football teams using "The 11+" as a standard warm-up had a significantly lower risk of injury than teams that warmed up as usual.

      Through the FIFA Medical and Research Centre, FIFA plays an active role in sports medicine research, most notably in injury prevention and the fight against doping.

        The F-MARC

        The FIFA-Medical Assessment and Research Centre (F-MARC)
        F-MARC, established in 1994, is an independent research body of FIFA uniting an international group of experts in football medicine.

          Football For Health

          Football for Health – the Medical Legacy for Africa

          The final whistle at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ will be the starting signal for a unique legacy for Africa: Football for Health. The programme educates the youth of Africa in a football environment on how to prevent disease.

            FIFA Medical Network

            FIFA intends to create a virtual community for football medicine whose members will apply best medical practice and spotlight prevention while focussing on the bigger picture of improving public health through football. The FIFA Medical Network, which was launched on 17 October 2009 as a non-restricted-access web-based service with extensive medical information not available on FIFA.com, is aimed at physicians, physiotherapists and other medical professionals. All material is freely available for viewing and downloading.

              The fundamental aims of doping control are threefold: to uphold and preserve the ethics of sport; to safeguard the physical health and mental integrity of players and to ensure that all competitors have an equal chance.
