"Slave to Love" is the first single released from former Roxy Music singer Bryan Ferry's 1985 release, Boys and Girls, and is one of his most popular solo hits. The single was released on 28th April 1985 and spent 10 weeks in the UK charts in 1985 and peaked at number 9. It was featured on the Adrian Lyne movie Nine 1/2 Weeks where the entire song was played in one of the scenes. The song is also played in the party scene in Bitter Moon, as Emmanuelle Seigner and Kristin Scott Thomas dance together, but is performed by Danny Wuyts.

The first live performance of the song was at Live Aid July 13th 1985 and has been played on most Bryan Ferry tours since then.

The guitar solo in the middle section features Keith scott from Bryan Adams band and the closing guitar solo by Neil Hubbard.

Featuring an elegant vocal by Ferry,and guitar by David Gilmour the song is a romantic love ballad and, as such, is featured on the Slave to Love: Best of the Ballads compilation in 2000, which was named for the song, as was one of his biggest ballad releases.

Róisín Murphy, former Moloko singer, recorded "Slave to Love" to coincide with a Gucci advertising campaign. Plans were made to release this cover as a double A-side single with "Movie Star".[1] However, on December 4, 2008, it was announced that the release of the single had been cancelled.
