An Air Force pilot escaped serious injury Thursday when he ejected before his F-16 fighter crashed while landing, authorities said.

A 14th Fighter Squadron F-16 pilot jettisoned a 300-gallon fuel tank into the Pacific Ocean during a training mission Thursday, according to Misawa officials.
A combination of factors resulted in the collision of two F-16CMs Oct. 15, 2009, according to an Air Combat Command accident investigation board report released Jan. 11.

An F-16 belonging to USAF 31st FW based at Aviano, Italy, made an emergency landing today at 12.30h at Rome's Fiumicino Airport due to a unknown technical problem.
A Hill AFB based F-16 dropped its 300 gallon fuel tanks and two 500lb bombs outside the main base on waste land after calling an in-flight emergency around 15.30h local time.

2 Shaw F-16s collide off S. Carolina coast

Two F-16s from the 20th Fighter Wing based at Shaw Air Force Bases have collided in mid-air somewhere over the Atlantic at 20.30h local time. One jet & its pilot are reported to be missing.
Faulty maintenance work is being blamed for a March incident in which an F-16 pilot was forced to drop his fuel tanks over a small northern Italy town before making an emergency landing on base.

F-16I fighter jet makes emergency landing

An Israeli Air Force F-16I fighter jet on Wednesday made an emergency landing at the Ramon Base in the Negev after experiencing an unusual malfunction.
Mechanics at Des Moines' 132nd Fighter Wing Unit are trying to figure out what forced the F-16 pilot to make a barrier engagement on Saturday afternoon.
