University Police Home

The Indiana University Southeast Police department is a fully empowered law enforcement agency. The main objective of this department is to ensure the safety, peace, and tranquility of the academic community. The University Police department's primary jurisdiction is on any real property owned or occupied by the University, or on any roads or streets through or adjacent thereto. The department also shares concurrent jurisdiction with, and assists, other local police agencies.

The University Police department, with ten officers, patrols the campus on a 24 hour basis. The office is located in University Center North, room 027, and the telephone number is (812) 941-2400. Students and employees should report any criminal or suspicious activity on campus to this department immediately.

There are several emergency phones located throughout the campus which provide a direct line to the Police department. These phones should only be used to report crimes in progress, accidents, or need for medical assistance.

Displays of Permits

Semester or annual parking permits are to be placed on the lowest corner of the driver’s side of the front windshield. Permit should be fully visible from outside vehicle, but not obstructing the driver’s line of sight.

Bicycle Registration

Bicycle registration is required and can be done at the University Police Department. Bicycle registration is free for 2008-2009 (July 2008 thru June 2009).
