Circuit Court Clerks by County
Circuit court clerks are responsible for managing the records of Circuit and District courts, Kentucky trial courts. They have offices in all 120 Kentucky counties and are elected for six-year terms.
Circuit court clerks provide professional recordkeeping, receive money due the courts, pay money to required parties and to the state, record legal documents, provide legal documents and other legal materials, maintain the jury system, administer oaths, handle affidavits, and issue driver licenses and non-driver ID cards.
The Kentucky Association of Circuit Court Clerks celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2005. In 1992, the KACCC created Trust For Life - the first such program in the country - which allows every person obtaining a Kentucky driver license to donate $1 to promote organ and tissue donation.
