Freedom of Information Act 2000
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act) establishes a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities. It places a number of obligations on public authorities and sets out exemptions from that right. The Act applies to Ofcom as Ofcom is a public authority. Detailed information on the Act is available on the Information Commissioner’s website: http://www.ico.gov.uk/
The Act also requires public authorities to publish certain information under a publication scheme.
Requesting information from Ofcom
You do not need to mention the Act when making a request for information. The request must however be in a permanent form, for instance in writing or by email.

If you have a request for information that you cannot find on Ofcom's website please use the Request for Information form .
A response must in general be provided within 20 working days. We may contact you to ask for further information which we reasonably require in order to identify and locate the information requested.
Wherever possible we will provide the requested information in an accessible format.
Individuals have the right to access information about themselves under the Data Protection Act and you will find further information on this on the Data Protection Act page.
