Introduction of new Point to Point Fixed Links Licensing system - Update May 2008
We are pleased to announce that our new licensing system for terrestrial point-to-point fixed links is now successfully up and running. The new system, which is part of Ofcom’s wider programme of improvements to its computer infrastructure, has been making spectrum assignments and issuing licences since late April.
The new system is complex and has many integrated facets for spectrum management including producing and issuing of licence documentation and handling licence fees and finance. We anticipate that as user experience increases the level of service provided to our stakeholders will further improve to exceed the levels of service to which stakeholders have become accustomed.
We remain grateful for your cooperation during the change over period and would like to apologise for any inconvenience you may have experienced while we improve our spectrum management and licensing services. More details on the new system and point to point licensing can be found at http://www.ofcom.org.uk/radiocomms/ifi/licensing/classes/fixed/newsystem/faq/
