I am very pleased that all of you could join us this afternoon as we dedicate Indiana University Southeast campus's new student housing facilities. These impressive new residences will serve to enhance this campus and improve the quality of life from those who come to IU Southeast to learn and to live.

[Sandra Patterson-Randles]
Our graduates, our students, prospective students, and community members express time-after-time, year-after-year that they wanted IU Southeast to better serve the needs of this region by offering the full college experience.

[Ruth Garvey-Nix]
We opened the lodges on August 21st with nearly 400 pioneers, first-time residential students on our campus. Opening day was one of the most exciting days in campus history.

[William C. Cochran]
The addition of these lodges bring new neighbors, changing landscape, and a significant boost to our economy.

[Michael A. McRobbie]
And the apartments themselves, which I toured a few months ago, are quite magnificent, well-designed and well-furnished, offering students first-rate amenities.

[Edward C. Jerdonek]
In addition to the apartment features, the campus also wanted to create a feeling. A feeling of community and of balance.

[Ruth Garvey-Nix]
Each lodge now has a mascot and a crest, and some have mottos identifying the values and character of each lodge.

[Brittany Perez]
Our college experience and the experience of the students who follow have been made richer and more fulfilling by living in these lodges. Again, I represent us all when I say thanks. (Applause)

[Edward C. Jerdonek]
On behalf of all those at Luckett & Farley who participated in this project, we are proud to present you the key to the lodges located at the heart of the beautiful IU Southeast campus.

[Patrick A. Shoulders]
Ed, thank you very much for this and it is with great pride and deep gratitude that I accept this key to this new and welcoming place that will become home to new generations of IU Southeast students.

[Michael A. McRobbie]
Friends and colleagues, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Trustees of Indiana University, I dedicate the residence halls at IU Southeast, commending them as places of central importance to the Indiana University Southeast campus. May all who live, study, work and visit here bring ever-greater contributions to this campus, reflecting the ideals of the pioneer founders of Indiana University. Please join me in celebrating a splendid addition to this wonderful campus. (applause)
