*How are the lodges different from housing on other campuses?*

[Kayla]
They're brand new so that's one of the best parts.

[Danielle]
You don't have to worry about the old residents messing it up and stuff.

[Heather]
You have a lot more space and things are a lot more convenient.

[Kayla]
They're all secure. It makes you feel more comfortable.

[Angel]
The high-speed Internet. The cable TV.

[Danielle]
You don't have to share a bathroom with a whole hallway of people.

[Angel]
I'm looking forward to having my own little kitchen area.

[Danielle]
Instead of having to go to the fast food restaurants or, you know, eating pudding for dinner, you can actually cook something.

[Deale]
It just seems like a house, a place to live at. It probably would feel a lot more like a family.

[Angel]
It will be really cool to have all that on my own.

*Would you recommend living on campus to your friends?*

[Heather]
I would recommend living on campus to my friends just because it really gives you the complete college experience.

[Deale]
It lets you get away from your house if you're living at home. It lets you be your own person.

[Danielle]
If you actually get away from your parents and, you know, live with other people, then it's just quite a learning experience.

[Heather]
It really gives you the opportunity to just go out there and live your life and make this four years that you spend at IU Southeast memorable.

*What advice do you have for freshmen living on campus?*

[Kayla]
The advice I would give to incoming freshmen living on campus would be even though you're away from home and you're making your own rules, that you still need to be responsible or that will come back to haunt you.

[Deale]
Try more things. Be around campus when they're having their events.

[Heather]
Get in to the middle of all of the action. It's easy if you're not living on campus to sit back and kind of let things roll by you where, if you're living on campus, you're right here in the middle of it all.

[Deale]
So that's going to give you the opportunity to network, meet new people, and try things you really didn't think you liked before.
