Michael Vick will receive a $1.5 million roster bonus today from the Eagles, a person with knowledge of the contract said. Paying Vick the bonus doesn't preclude Philadelphia from trading Vick, who is under contract for $5.2 million this year.
* Chad Pennington signed a one-year deal to return to the Dolphins to back up Chad Henne.
* The Steelers made a bevy of moves, including re-signing safety Ryan Clark. . . . The Raiders released wide receiver Javon Walker and defensive end Greg Ellis.
* Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey and former defensive lineman Charles Grant are suing ex-teammate Kevin Houser over investments worth hundreds of thousands of dollars tied to a now-defunct movie studio.
* The NFL and Verizon Wireless are close to a deal to distribute live games and the league's popular RedZone Channel beginning next season, according to the Wall Street Journal.
NBA: Report: AI's drinking
There is widespread concern in NBA circles that Allen Iverson, who left the 76ers last month and will not return this season, will be overcome by alcohol and gambling issues that have derailed his career, according to a report in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
* In Cleveland, the Cavaliers won without LeBron James, who sat out with an injured right ankle, beating the Spurs 97-95. The Spurs played their first game without point guard Tony Parker, who is out six weeks with a broken hand.
* In Minneapolis, Shawn Marion had a season-high 29 points and the Mavericks stretched their winning streak to 12 straight with a 125-112 victory over the Timberwolves.
MLB: Selig iffy on HGH test
Baseball commissioner Bud Selig said it's too soon to determine whether a blood test for human growth hormone can be used for minor leaguers. A British rugby player tested positive for HGH last month.
* Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols did not make the cross-state trip for yesterday's spring training game against the Red Sox because of discomfort in his lower back.
* Cuban Aroldis Chapman hit 100 mph on radar guns during his spring training debut, throwing two scoreless innings during the Reds' 14-5 victory over the Royals in Goodyear, Ariz.
GOLF: Deal on Ping wedges
The 20-year-old Ping wedges with square-shaped grooves will no longer be allowed on the PGA Tour starting March 29. The company agreed to waive its right that had kept the PGA Tour from banning Ping Eye2 wedges made before April 1, 1990. Phil Mickelson was among players who used the grandfathered Ping wedges.
