All About

Bette Davis

Nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award an incredible 11 times between 1935 and 1963, Bette Davis won Oscars for "Dangerous" in 1936 and "Jezebel" in 1939. Her final nomination came for the film "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?", where she starred opposite fellow film icon Joan Crawford (the two disliked each other intensely and feuded aggressively). Davis died at 81 in 1989. Among the references to her in pop culture is the song "Bette Davis Eyes", which became a number one hit for Kim Carnes in 1981 and won Grammy Awards for Song and Record of the Year.
