Not a flake of snow yet and everyone is cancelling. Then when the storm tracks west we get nothing and everyone is closed anyway. OVERREACTION

I suppose Jim would prefer last-minute cancellations and people complaining that businesses and organizations waited until roads were bad to decide to cancel an event when we have technology that usually predicts problematic weather correctly. Yeah, sometimes they're off-mark. But I'd rather the "better safe-than-sorry" early-notice approach than the "whoops, we know it's an hour or two from now, but don't bother coming" approach. Perhaps it's Jim who's overreacting because it's he who needs to feel superior and put down those who prefer to play it safe and give people some lead time in their schedules.

What do you think now Jim?? Doesn't look like it's going west and instead of making school buses turn around and risk injuring children or other people...everyone is safe and home where they belong.

Bob and some of these others are typical lazy people looking for any excuse for a day off. It is now 2:10pm and as I look outside nary an inch of snow has fallen and the roads are perfectly clear.

Jim , why are you home at 2:12 pm? If you are not concerned about the weather then I am sure you should be somewhere else?

Did Jim use the word "nary" in a sentence? I enjoyed my day off of work, it is nice to get an unexpected day off once in a while.

Don't you dare call me lazy! I work probably more hours in a week than you do, if YOU even work at all. Being safe matters more than $. If more employers could understand this, we would be safer. Also, when you knowingly get behind the wheel of a vehicle and its deemed" unsafe driving conditons", you can be cited for driving in it. So, why don't you stop badgering us working folks and go shovel your snow..IT'S COMING.

Jim, could you please help shovel some of our 2-feet of overreaction, I mean snow? You know, since you haven't even seen a flake where you live?

Just tired of everyone looking for a handout ie a paid day off from work. Back in the 50's when I was a kid we went to school and work no matter the snowfall. Nowadays everything is cancelled at just a hint of snow. Just a matter of a difference of generations and their instilled values I guess. The work ethic of people has deteriorated dramatically over the years I guess. Too many people are looking for handouts and what they can get from welfare nowadays. Sorry to inconvenience so many people with my opinions. I guess the truth hurts when it hits so close to home.

Jim, I don't know where you work but we don't get paid for taking a snow day. I don't know where you live but we got over 2 feet. Step outside your little dream world and realize there are lots of people in this valley and that it holds many different terrains.
