The evening was filled with glamour and glitz at the `Haute Couture' designer fashion show organised by the National Institute of Fashion Design on Wednesday at Hotel Palm Beach.

The budding designers of NIFD served up a good dose of ultra-glam attire, accessories, looks and make-up. In a nutshell, what came our way truly, was fashion - full frontal, bold and vibrant and pulsating and alive! Novel themes and designs were the highlight of the fashion parade.

Before the fashion show finally got underway, the scintillating performance by `Fractions', the dance troupe from Kolkata, set the stage on fire as they danced to some rocking numbers from the latest hits.

The participants of the `model-grooming' workshop by the ace fashion choreographer, Kaushik Ghosh, gave immaculate performances at the series of fashion sequences. They strutted, smiled and showcased their stuff like true professionals.

The participating kids, on their part, gave a remarkable display of style and grace as they walked the ramp with full confidence. They walked with ιlan, stopped to pose and exuded the right attitude in good measure.

Well, the participants had to give in their best to win the Mr. and Miss NIFD titles! They were judged on their confidence levels and the impromptu answers they gave to the questions posed by the judges.

The models from Delhi sported the designer collections that had a fine blend of the contemporary and the classic style. The `mystery' sequence received loud applause from the audience.

Shades of red and beige were imaginatively done up with crafty designs.

The crowd was thrilled to see the style guru, Kaushik Ghosh walk the ramp with Vikas, a model from Delhi who assisted him in the workshop. Said Kaushik, "Making a successful model is all

about good grooming."

The show was embellished by the Femina Miss India finalist, Divya Jaitley, who gave away the prizes to winners. Soumya was crowned Miss NIFD 2005 and Gerald Franklin was given the Mr. NIFD 2005 title.

Piyush won the Prince NIFD title and Ginisha was crowned Princess NIFD 2005. The event was managed by Creative Plus Entertainment Network.
