Lara Lappa redux
Saru Maini has come out with her new album.
A QUALIFIED lawyer who prefers to sing, and believes in winning the hearts of her listeners rather than battle it out in the courtroom.
Check out Saru Maini, who's come out with her latest duet album, Lara Lappa. In this remix of eight Hindi film golden oldies dubbed The Bold and Beautiful Mix, Saru Maini and Micky Narula jam with Jaspinder Narula (for a single number) to produce a hip-hop album.
The album features remixes of "Lara Lappa" from the 1949 hit film Ek Thi Ladki. "Jaadugar Saiyan" from Nagin, "Reshmi Salwar" from Naya Daur and "Aaj Kal Tere Mere" from Brahmachari. The track also includes numbers like the famous "Bichua", "Main Jat Yamla Pagla", "Man Dole" and "Sar Par Topi".
The bahu of the Reva car family, Saru made her debut with the album Ankhiyan, with eight of her original compositions. After that came Sahibaan, paving the way for Saru to pursue a fulltime career in music. She pays her tribute to the great composers, singers and lyricists of yesteryears through this album.
Music for the album has been recreated by Micky, Bob and Bantu. The cassette, by Crescendo, is priced at at Rs. 55.
