Bollywood, fashionably

Manish Malhotra.

IN ITS continuing series on honouring creative talents, the Mediterranean Mosaic at the Olive Bar showcased this past week the inimitable collection of none other than Manish Malhotra, widely regarded as the king of Bollywood fashion. The man is credited with having revolutionised the way Bollywood dresses with his unique approach and is perhaps the only fashion designer in the country to manage the delicate balance between costume designing and mainstream designing. Manish has conquered the cream of high society in Mumbai like Parmeshwar Godrej, Sheetal Mafatlal, Tanya Godrej, Tina Ambani, Haseena Jethmalani, Rhea Pillai and Avanti Birla. They have all experienced the magic of Manish Malhotra. Manish has designed Oriental Restaurant, Soy, at Palli Hill and now he has weaved his inimitable spell on the Olive Bar.

And Olive Bar, in association with Absolut vodka of Sweden hailed the extraordinary Malhotra, a la Bollywood style. Absolut worldwide is synonymous with creativity, whether in fashion, art or movie making. The brand has been the source of inspiration for designers such as Versace and Jean Paul Gaulatier. Taking forward the creative tradition, the premium Swedish vodka brand has used the art of movie making in a novel manner. Absolut Pictures produced a 12-minute movie Mulit directed by Ivan Zacharais, a tribute to Bollywood movies in its own style. The Med Mosaic Night, Absolut, which is a style statement on its own, presented four exclusive cocktails on the occasion - Lights, Action, Drama and Bollywood Twist.
