On the far west of the coastline, tiny Inverness is a quaint place to drop in, but for some wilder coastal vibes head towards moody, windswept Point Reyes. Famous for wrecking ships in days of yore, it still claims the odd dinghy here and there. You may also catch a glimpse of migrating birds or the marine life that reside here.
