Introducing Pacific Grove
Pacific Grove (‘PG’ to locals) is a tranquil community that began as a Methodist summer retreat in 1875. To this day, numerous stately Victorian homes line its nicely manicured residential streets. In summer, it hosts many tourists, but in winter PG hosts swarms of monarch butterflies, which make the local pine groves their temporary home. PG boasts a fun and thriving downtown and some of the area’s best views of the bay and the ocean. For many it’s the perfect respite from the Monterey-Carmel hubbub.
