Stardust Overdrive, Hidden Arsenal, and the Warriors’ Strike Structure Deck all make their SHONEN JUMP Championship debut this weekend, and while hundreds of Duelists stream into the Columbus Convention Center tensions run high as we wait to see which cards will make the biggest impact!

Four weeks ago, Lightsworn and Twilight Decks dominated at SHONEN JUMP Championship Austin, but today, new cards like “Dark Simorgh,” “Archlord Kristya,” “Shutendoji,” and “Ally of Justice Catastor” will shake up the playing field. Innovation is the order of the day, as we see Gemini Decks, Plant Decks, Fairies, Zombies, and Blackwing Decks armed with the new “Blackwing - Silverwind the Ascendant” take center stage. It really is anybody’s game this weekend.

A total of 803 competitors have gathered to duke it out for 10 Rounds, traveling from all over the United States, Canada, and Europe to take their shot at Dueling glory. The winners will walk away with exclusive SHONEN JUMP Championship playmats, gaming systems, electronics, and copies of the exclusive prize card “Dark End Dragon.” Get ready, because today promises to be an historic milestone in the history of Dueling. Welcome to SHONEN JUMP Championship Columbus!

Yesterday we saw nearly 500 Duelists compete, and today the final 16 played off to crown one winner. SHONEN JUMP Championship Austin is over, and Texas’ own Chris Bowling has won the tournament with his Twilight Deck!

Today we saw the final competition between 3 Destiny Hero / Zombie Decks, 2 Alchemist / Chaos Decks, 5 Lightsworn Decks, 3 Twilight Decks, and 3 Blackwing Decks featuring “Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor.” Duelists from Texas and all across the country played hard to try and take home top honors.

Chris Bowling played his Twilight DARK / Lightsworn Deck well, and fought through four other Duelists today to take first place. Bowling Dueled against 2 Lightsworn Decks (played by Michael Huynh and Chris Bryson) plus Ryan Spicer’s Alchemist Chaos Deck before taking on Morandice Black in the Finals. Lightsworn clashed with Twilight, and Twilight reigned victorious as Bowling took a 2-1 win.

Congratulations to everyone who came out to compete in SHONEN JUMP Championship Austin, and special kudos to Chris Bowling, our newest SHONEN JUMP Championship winner!

It’s over, and our newest SHONEN JUMP Champion is Spain’s Rodrigo Togores!

A total of 673 Duelists threw down this weekend, and by the time the field was narrowed to a Top 16, we had six Deck types in contention. Blackwings, Synchro Cat, Destiny Hero Zombies, Twilight, and even a Deck built around “Sky Scourge Norleras” made Day 2, but more than half the field was occupied by classic Lightsworn Decks! With nine Lightsworn builds in the Top 16 it seemed like a victory could be in the cards for Lightsworn. But once again it was not to be.

Rodrigo Togores exploded through his opponents with an ambitious Blackwing Deck, starring Ancient Prophecy’s new card: “Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor.” While many Duelists tried to take Blackwings in a new direction with “Burial From a Different Dimension,” Togores relied on “Black Whirlwind” instead, which won him Duel after Duel all weekend long.

Congratulations to everyone who came out to compete here in Orlando, and special congrats to Rodrigo Togores, your new SHONEN JUMP Championship winner!

Fittingly enough here at “The Best Four Days In Gaming” we have our first-ever four-time SHONEN JUMP Champion! We saw Lightsworn, Synchro Cat, Gladiator Beast, and Black Salvo Decks compete in the Top 16, but it was Blackwings that won the day in the hands of Fili Luna!

Winning four matches straight was no easy feat for the new four-time Champ. Sneaking into Day 2 in 16th place, he had to Duel against the undefeated first-seed Chris Evans, in a brutal match that pitted Fili’s Blackwings against Black Salvo. From there he took on Adam Corn and Dale Bellido, before Dueling Matt Hoey in the finals. Hoey has never Made Day 2 before but has long been a fixture of the SHONEN JUMP Championship scene. Fili claimed a photo-finish victory over Hoey’s Synchro Cat Deck in Duel 3, as a chain of “Solemn Judgments” backfired on his opponent and left Fili with a game-winning “Icarus Attack”!

It’s been a huge weekend here at Gen Con Indianapolis. Even as we finish up the main event, a massive Sneak Preview for Ancient Prophecy is just getting started, a Regional Qualifier is underway, and plenty more side events are playing out. But for this single moment the Dueling world turns its focus on one competitor, to congratulate our new and unprecedented four-time SHONEN JUMP Champion – Fili Luna!

US NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP COVERAGE

It’s all over, and the United States has a brand new National Champion! A record-breaking 1205 Duelists competed this weekend in the biggest tournament we’ve ever seen in North America, and after sixteen rounds of competition across two days of Dueling, we have our winner! Kris Ferber has dominated with his first-ever big finish at a major Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME tournament. What better way to make his debut, than to capture the National Championship!

This weekend’s tournament featured the four biggest Decks many were expecting to see: Synchro Cat, Blackwings, Lightsworn, and Gladiator Beasts were all represented in the Top 4 playoffs, and those final four competitors were a great example of this tournament. Splashed amongst the big four were everything from Chaos-End Master Decks and Plant Skill Drain builds to Dragons and beyond. It was a huge weekend with plenty of cool innovation, but at the end of the tournament Synchro Cat stands supreme!

Now, four American Duelists will head to Tokyo in August to represent the United States at the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME World Championship! Lightsworn Duelist Ryan Newburn, Blackwing Duelist Roy St. Clair, Gladiator Beast Duelist Michael Kohanim, and our Synchro Cat Champion Kris Ferber will now have to team up to take on Duelists from across the globe. The United States has never won the World Championship – now, these four Duelists will look to change that.

In the mean time, congratulations to the hundreds upon hundreds of Duelists who made this the record-breaking event it was, and special kudos are reserved for Kris Ferber, your new U.S. National Champion!

It’s all over, and for the first time in fourteen weeks the Dueling world has a brand new SHONEN JUMP Champion!  From a field that included eight Lightsworn Decks, three Gladiator Beast Decks, Counter Fairies, LIGHT Skill Drain, and DARK Synchro, a single Duelist wielding a DARK Skill Drain build has claimed victory.  And that Duelist is none other than Jeff Jones!

Jeff’s morning began with the biggest Match of the Top 16, as he took his Skill Drain Deck against SHONEN JUMP Champion Jason Holloway and Lightsworn.  An early stumble left Jones scrabbling to regain control of the Match, but in the end, he pulled out a 2-1 victory.  From there he proceeded to defeat three-time Day 2 Duelist Justin Trias with Gladiator Beasts, before moving on to defeat two Lightsworn Duelists in back-to-back Matches: Semi-Finalist Jerry Williams, and Runner-Up Jarel Winston.  Winston gave Jones one of the most harrowing Matches of his Dueling career, but in the end a fatal slip-up and a massive triumph of intuition led to Jones claiming game 3.

Jones’ Deck this weekend was designed to counter the expected field of Gladiator Beasts and Lightsworn, throwing up big defense and negating the effects of opposing monsters.  With an aggressive offense driven by “Beast King Barbaros” and plenty of Synchro Monsters, Jones was able to switch gears as needed to outplay a variety of tactics from his opponents.  It certainly worked, as even in the varied Day 2 field we saw, Jones had the luck to plow through nothing but three Lightsworn Matchups and a single Gladiator Beast Deck.  Fate was clearly on Jeff Jones’ side this weekend.

This weekend’s tournament was nothing short of amazing – a record-breaking turnout combined with an astounding range of Day 2 Decks made for one of the most memorable SHONEN JUMP Championships of all time.  The Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME is back and bigger than ever.  Congratulations to every Duelist who came out to attend this historic event, and special congratulations to your new SHONEN JUMP Champion, Jeff Jones!
