    Brutal Legend is a fun game but if your not into heavy metal you wil only hate it.
    at batman when you have been cap by joker and and all the gards are in jail well that momment was a real shocking momment

    Killzone 2, GTA and PS3 are all overrated. At least give MW2 one award. Nevermind, half of them lost to GTA and Killzone 2. Seriously GTA, Saint's Row 1 and 2 are just as good if not better. PS3, it is obviously overrated because Sony finds a way to put out a good word like how they compared the PS2 to the 360 . Killzone 2 would have been better if they made it for all consoles. And MW2 is better than that... More people play MW2 than Killzone 2. Alot more. I'm not a Call of Duty bandwaggoner.. I've played since the original one on the PC.

    Man it sucks that most of the good and wining games are only for consoles. It wuld be realy good if programers would think about it and make more games for pc as well as consoles because kill zone, 50 cent blood on the sand and for me now gears of war 2 are pretty good games and its a shame the are not made for pc.

    what the hell?? Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 was nominated for "Best Use of a Creative License", but also for "Worst use of a Creative License"? Way to go Gamespot =)

    im glad uncharted won 2 awards it was such a great improvement on the 1st one. i did love the 1st but i didnt find it that replayable due to the fact i knew how to do the puzzles etc and just flew through it. Im also glad mw2 did not win anything there is just too many online gliches and it lags too much. for me goty would be uncharted 2 not 1 fault with the graphics, online very rarley lags and it is alot more replayable than the 1st and i love stelth kills.

    You forgot one. Modern Warfare 2 wins for somehow managing to release a game with broken multi-player and a host of exploitable bugs, then sitting on their ass and taking forever to fix any of them, and still somehow every single gaming site gushes over the "great online play." That is one amazing achievement.

    How is Mark Hamills Joker NOT EVEN NOMINATED for best voice acting??? And how is Modern Warefare 2 nominated for best ORIGINAL game mechanic? Did Gamespot forget there was a COD4??

    @Uncharterd_Baihh - perhaps Demon Souls is more than the sum of it's parts? It seems to be gaming marmite - it wins here, but is no-where to be seen on other sites' GotY features.

    It's unnerving to read all these posts claiming "fanboyism". With the PlayStation 3 winning most categories in the last two years, GameSpot is accused of this. However, was GameSpot PS3 fanboys two years before that when the XBOX 360 clearly had greater games?

    No. The PlayStation is just at it's prime, with some fantastic games out. Stop mistaking your own insecurities with fanboyism. If the game you like didn't win, why should that matter to you? GameSpot's game of the year is Demon's Souls. I heavily disagree, but it means nothing. Everyone, including game sites are entitled to their own opinions. As for my own, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is my game of the year, followed closely by Killzone 2, Dragon Age, and Batman Arkham Asylum.

    well why didn't killzone 2 get game of the year???? if your gonna let it win almost every category that its in why not I haven't played or demons souls so I wouldn't know but come on what award didn't it win when it was nominated??? also how come madworld didn't win its award?? if you played that game you would know why it should have won. That game was brutal plus it was for Wii nontheless

    I really don't think Infamous was very good at all. The main character is not very compelling; not really diggin' the bald-headed neo-Nazi types as heroes OR villains for that matter.

    I got Killzone 2 a while ago it's great but it's not better than Halo many may disagree but Killzones controls are just far too hard to get hold of!

    I must admit PS3 has got better original games out in 2009 with killzone 2 and uncharted 2, but xbox 360 in my books had a better 2008... next year will be interesting

    This video made it clear to me that Gamespot is biased against Modern Warfare 2. Not that I'm an undying fan, but their complete lack of recognition for the game is amazing.

    Alright! Outstanding!!! I'm a 360 man but this is the first year where I've actually felt there were PS-3 exclusive games that justified my purchase of a PS-3. Those two games were Killzone2 and Demon's Souls, with Demon's Souls being my choice for game of the year. Bravo GameSpot!!!
