Open Season 2 is a direct-to-video sequel to the 2006 computer animated film Open Season, produced by Sony Pictures Animation, directed by Matthew O'Callaghan, co-directed by Todd Wilderman, and produced by Kirk Bodyfelt and Matthew O'Callaghan. Jane Krakowski (Giselle), Billy Connolly (McSquizzy), Cody Cameron (Mr. Wennie), Danny Mann (Serge) and Matthew Taylor (Buddy) all reprise their roles. However, Martin Lawrence, who voiced Boog in the previous film, Ashton Kutcher, who voiced Elliot and Patrick Warburton, who voiced Ian, did not return for the sequel.
A small teaser trailer for the film was included on the Surf's Up DVD and Blu Ray. The trailer itself is very short and only includes clips of the first film and doesn't have any new footage. The premise of "What does a bear do in the woods?" is also conflicting with the plot outline that Sony Pictures has described. The trailer can be found on the official Open Season 2 site and the popular video sharing site YouTube. A new trailer for the film has been released to Reel FX Entertainment's website and more recently added to YouTube, one of the animation studios working on the film. It shows clips of Mr Weenie's kidnap and some plotting to what Boog, Elliot and friends are going to do, to get their friend Mr Weenie back. The trailer also shows clippits of the pets who are holding Mr Weenie hostage. [1] Another trailer, about ten minutes long, is included with the film Marley & Me.

Plot
Taking place after the original film, the film continues the lives of Boog (Mike Epps) and Elliot (Joel McHale). When Elliot falls head over hooves in love with Giselle (Jane Krakowski), Elliot's road to the altar takes a slight detour when Mr. Weenie (Cody Cameron) is kidnapped by a group of pampered pets, who are determined to return him to his owners. Boog, Elliot, and the gang launch a full-scale rescue mission for their sausage-shaped friend, and soon find themselves in enemy camp: the world of the pets. Led by an evil toy poodle named Fifi the Dog (Crispin Glover), the pets don't plan to let Mr. Weenie go without a fight.
