A wonderful series with gorgeous artwork, and certainly underappreciated. Good to finally see the last volume out.

After reading this I really hope its not going to be the end of Jing as a whole. It needs to keep going past this point in the story. It has the potential to keep going and is an amazing series. The art is fantastik and never ceases to impress in the detail, not just in the art but also in the story. I never really understood the point of adding "twilight tales" to the end of the title as I see them as the same series either way.

Out of all the series I have read, this is the one I read the most. Can't wait until I get to read this book too.

*Sniff* I can't believe this is it. I love this manga. The whole series was amazing.

You have taken the words right out of my mouth, when I didn't even know how to say them. Thank you Straybandit. Although I have yet to read the first series, Jing was the first manga I ever owned. I am very pleased to say that this last one is just as amazing as the first one I read. I hope to have the first series soon...even if it does take until my next convention! And the anime completely blew my mind.

I am genuinely going to miss this series! I was absolutely bewitched by the whole of it. I originally watched the first episode of the anime on a sampler disk from a NewType USA magazine I was given at a convention. I sat down, watched the first episode and, yes -- Jing stole my heart away. The first manga volume I picked up was actually the first volume of Twilight Tales -- I finished it, cover to cover, in a doctor's office. Utterly dazed and considerably starstruck, I begged my mother (I was a sophomore in high school, I believe) to let me have the firt series. After much goading and an explanation why, she finally did give in and over a few days, I read the series as a whole. From the original seven volumes to the six I have read in the Twilight Tales series, Jing and Kir have had my heart and Kumakura has taken my breath away. The whimsical look of the first series was just as beautiful in its own way as the more darkly European look of the second. I haven't yet had the oportunity to read this final volume, but I do hope Jing gets the chance to steal the stars.

Jing and Kir's last recorded adventure is here. As the duo arrives at a ghost town trapped in eternal night, will Jing’s final loot turn the tables on him...and steal his heart?

Jing
A thief who steals everything, even stars in the sky and precious human lives.

Kir.
A talking bird who is Jing's constant companion. Together Jing and Kir can fire the Kir Royal attack, a powerful blast which comes from Kir's beak.

Yuichi Kumakura

Kumakura-sensei's Jing was first published in April, 1995 in Kodansha's monthly comic magazine, Bonbon.

The Jing manga has inspired a brand new anime series from Sony, which began running in Japan in May, 2002. Kumakura-sensei is now at work on an all-new version of the Jing saga, featuring more European-style artwork.
