PlayStation palmar hidradenitis
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
PlayStation palmar hidradenitis is a medical condition where the patient suffers from painful lesions on the palms and fingers. It differs from palmoplantar hidradenitis in that it affects only the hands. According to a publication by the British Journal of Dermatology[1], it is specifically a "cutaneous (skin) pathology induced by console gaming."[2] The publication goes on to describe the case of a 12-year-old girl who was admitted to the Geneva hospital suffering from this condition. She fully recovered after refraining from playing her video game console for 10 days.
