Count Julian Pyre has a problem. He lusts for sex, domination, and blood; and he isn't too choosy about who he gets it from. It's a drawback of the species. But after having spent hundreds of years pouncing on virgins who stupidly leave their windows open at night, he has grown tired of of the whole 'children-of-the-night' game, and wants to settle down into a simple, loving relationship. Which is easier said than done.

 Bart Cooper has a problem too. He has to put up with Julian. And if you put up with Julian, you put up with his lusts too. It's a shame that he hates vampires so much.

However, despite their differences, through time neither can deny that there is some link between them, and that they need each other to survive in a world which does not accept them. But in the end, can there truly be a relationship between a man and a vampire which is more than blood?
