EvenFunction

A function f(x) such that f(x)=f(-x). Examples of even functions include 1 (or, in general, any constant function), |x|, cosx, x^2, and e^(-x^2).

An even function times an odd function is odd.

If an even function is differentiable, then its derivative is an odd function. Similarly, if an odd function is differentiable, then its derivative is an even function.

The Maclaurin series of an even function contains only even powers.
