The Supply Chain View from MIT Sloan

January 26, 2010

We’re always happy to see the topic of supply chain management covered in venues beyond the expected places. Perhaps the example that garnered the widest attention over the years was the UPS television commercials on the weekend sporting events that talked about their “supply chain” solutions.  Hey, two decades after emergence of this business technique, the gospel of supply chain management still needs to be preached-far and wide.

For this reason, we were pleased to see the coverage SCM received in a publication you may not have expected to find it in-MIT Sloan Management Review. This venerable business journal, now in its 52nd year, routinely covers all aspects of general management and technology. So we were pleasantly surprised to see it devote a whole special supplement to supply chain management in its Winter 2010 issue.

SCMR has been a special resource for supply chain insights and information for more than 14 years. But we don’t’ presume to be the only resource. (Although, we were the first.) So we encourage you to check out the perspective on supply chain management from the folks at MIT by visiting http://sloanreview.mit.edu/special-report/your-next-supply-chain/  It’s well worth the read.
