With Stanford University's Folding@home project, your PS3™ system can help research diseases whenever you're using Life with PlayStation®. Folding@home is distributed computing project, where people from around the world download and run the Folding@home software and together they make up one of the largest supercomputers in the world. The goal of the project is to understand protein folding and misfolding, and how these are related to diseases and many forms of cancer. Participation in Folding@home by the PS3™ system user community has been phenomenal. As of February 2008, over one million registered PS3™ system users were participating.
