Daily Track: Jesse Harper - "Run"
Remember how Paul Simon and David Byrne found a way to spice up their folk/pop with bright, polyrhythmic textures and loping Afrobeat bass lines? Well, it would appear that Virginian Jesse Harper does, too. For his song "Run", Harper, founder of the progressive acoustic band Old School Freight Train, and his studio mates created a sound that he says "features pianos, electric guitars, clarinets, and various percussion instruments we found in the kitchen." We like -- and think you will, too. More here.
