Wilco - Wilco (The Album)
We're thinking there's significantly more creativity in the music than in the choice of album titles with the new Wilco release Wilco (The Album) via Nonesuch. Hot on the heels of their just released live DVD Ashes of American Flags, the band's new project "has something for everyone" says Rolling Stone after an advance listen. "'One Wing' and 'Sunny Feeling' are breezy, pop-friendly tunes; 'Deeper Down' is a mellow ballad spiked with atmospherics and chamber strings; the nearly-six-minute jam 'Bull Black Nova' starts with rollicking drums, staccato keys and guitars before exploding into a killer solo from guitarist Nels Cline."
Says the band's Jeff Tweedy, ""We wanted to go in there with more of an eye for sculpting something sonically." And there's already a big buzz about a track that's a Tweedy duet with Feist. Now THAT's something we'd like to hear. Probably even more than the track (no kidding, now) called "Wilco, The Song".
