Rock - Best known as the guitarist for fuzzed-out blues rockers The Black Keys, Dan Auerbach's self-produced solo debut is a mix of "psychedelia, soul music, loud and soft guitars." Keep It Hid opens with a sad acoustic blues called "Trouble Weighs a Ton," signaling a departure from but not abandonment of The Black Keys sound. "The one thing I didn"t want to do is to try to sound different from The Black Keys. That would have sounded half-assed and boring. I just wanted to do things I loved.' Luckily, as we know from his work with the Keys, Dan loves raw vocals and serious guitar workouts, and Keep It Hid has plenty of both.
