PSP vs Nintendo DS

nintendo vs psp

nintendo vs psp

Portable video game console is most of people likes in these days. We can take it to anywhere we go and we can play the various games anytime we want. The latest portable video games from the famous game company are PSP from Sony and Nintendo DS Lite from Nintendo.

The PlayStation Portable (PSP) is a handheld game console manufactured and marketed by Sony Computer Entertainment. The system was released in Japan on December 12, 2004. PSP also is the first handheld video game console to use an optical disc format, as its primary storage medium.

The Nintendo DS Lite is a dual-screen handheld game console developed and manufactured by Nintendo. It is a slimmer, brighter, and more lightweight redesign of the Nintendo DS and released in Japan on March 2, 2006.

I had written some of the different between PSP and Nintendo DS Lite before on my article on “Nintendo DS Lite Review”. Well in this article I’d to review more differences about PSP and Nintendo DS Lite.

The PSP is obviously more expensive. The price of PSP is about $170 and Nintendo DS Lite only $130. The games are more expensive, as well. You can get great Nintendo DS games typically from $20 to $35. PSP games generally run $35 to $50. So comparing the price goes to Nintendo DS as the winner.

The media of the Nintendo DS uses game cards, which are capable of storing up to 128MB of data as of now, though larger chips could theoretically be used to increase that size at some point in the future. The PSP uses UMD discs, which are capable of holding up to 1.8GB of data, and also can use a memory stick duos for saves and media. So this goes to the PSP as the winner.

Well how about comparing the “life” of both handheld game console… Both systems feature are almost same, they have same main controller layout with a D-Pad, four main action buttons on the face of the unit and two triggers. The differential is the input device from both of them; which PSP using analog stick and Nintendo DS using the touch screen. So both of them controls are almost same, so is it has the same battery life? The answer is no! The PSP needs plenty of juice to feed all that power and it drinks it a-plenty. When it comes to the racing games or sport games, the UMD drive plenty will kill the battery faster than you can charge it. And this one goes to the Nintendo DS.

But if you are a soccer game fan, you should choose the PSP. It concern to other controller. The PSP features the better face buttons as they’re bigger and feel more like a regular controller. So it’s a matter of the select game at hand that decides which system has the better controls, and though the PSP will win for most mass-market games, the Nintendo DS has plenty of room for innovative control methods. So it’s much better if you use the PSP for playing the excited sport games.

Overall both of these handheld game systems are awesome. So which one is better, you judge yourself. Think it over what is your propose of buying a handheld game system and compare with all those comparison above. Each handheld game system has the advantage and disadvantage.

Nintendo Game Cube – Overview

nintendo game cube

nintendo game cube

Nintendo GameCube is Nintendo’s fourth home video game console and is part of the sixth generation console era. It is the successor to the Nintendo 64 and predecessor to Nintendo’s Wii. It was released on September 14, 2001 in Japan.

Nintendo GameCube is the first Nintendo console to use optical discs as its primary storage medium, after several aborted forays by Nintendo in disc-based storage media.

In addition, the GameCube also introduced a variety of connectivity options to Nintendo consoles to officially support online play. It also allowed for connectivity to the contemporary Game Boy Advance to access exclusive features of certain games.

In many ways Nintendo revived interest in home video game console that can be hooked up to televisions. The Nintendo GameCube is the current iteration of this long line of video game platforms, but unfortunately it doesn’t really measure up compared to other modern video game platforms like the Sony PlayStation 3, and Microsoft’s Xbox 360. The GameCube also lacks a hard drive which both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 feature.

The inability of this platform to play CD’s DVD’s and other media limits it to the realm of strictly being a video game platform while the PS3 and Xbox 360 are also CD and DVD players. I think Nintendo GameCube can’t really compete with the other video gaming platforms on the market, but Nintendo GameCube is can be fun. With a game library of hundreds of titles in all possible genres, powerful technical specs, and a cast of exclusive characters unrivalled by any other system, players in search of a great gaming experience need look no farther.

Nintendo GameCube Games

A gaming system is only as good as the games it plays. Nintendo GameCube offers an ever-growing game library which caters to fans of all genres. Exclusive games and characters like Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Pokemon and more are only available on Nintendo consoles.

I read an article from JJ Hendricks stated that there’re 10 top games on GameCube that he feels that every GameCube owner should have in their collection, such as :

  1. Super Mario Sunshine
  2. Pikmin
  3. Zelda Twilight Princess
  4. Animal Crossing
  5. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
  6. Zelda Wind Waker
  7. Super Monkey Ball
  8. Mario Kart Double Dash
  9. Super Smash Bros. Melee
  10. Metroid Prime

I’m curious about the top popular games on GameCube, so I did a searching on Google and I found out that mostly the game that appears on people recommended list is Pikmin.

Pikmin is the GameCube game series developed by Nintendo. The games feature small, multi-colored creatures known as Pikmin. In this game contain control huge swarms of tiny plant creatures and throw them at enemies, solve puzzles, and try to rebuild your space ship. I think its better that you try it by your own, feels the fun of the adventure by your own.

Nintendo Wii vs Playstation 3

nintendo play game

nintendo play game

Since Nintendo Wii is in very high demand with the Wii system being more difficult to find, it’s possible that the Playstation 3 will get the benefit, however their sales is still lower than the Wii. Sometimes if people are can’t get a Wii system, they would consider a Playstation 3. They are very different, but both excellent systems.

The Sony Playstation 3 cost about $400, the high-end, with dual shock 3 wireless controller. It has hi-def graphics, internet ready Wi-Fi, and 80GB of hard disk storage for all your games, music, videos, and photos. Every PS3 comes with a built-in Blu-ray player to give you the best high-definition viewing experience and pristine picture quality. Plus, the PS3 can play your entire catalog of CDs and DVDs.

The Nintendo Wii System costs about $250, and includes wireless Wi-Fi capabilities. Nintendo’s Wii video game system brings people of all ages and video game experience together to play. This simple yet ground breaking idea is expressed not only though the system’s evocative name, which is easily pronounced in a variety of languages, and suggests two players side by side, but also through its innovative list of features and extensive list of playable titles.

The best thing about the Wii is that it has a unique remote and nunchuck combination, as well as a huge library of games. While the PS3 has a lot more horsepower and better graphics, they just don’t have the same volume of game choices.

The Nintendo Wii provides more of a simple box with unique controls that is designed for fun. The Wii can play Game Cube games and also released many old favorites such as PacMan, which can be downloaded right onto the Wii. You can even access the Internet through the Wii or with Nintendo Wi-Fi. All those games released by Nintendo got many caution by all those gamers. While Nintendo devoting time to promoting all its games, the gamers keep challenging, culminating in something, searching for the secret of the games.

It makes sense that there’s a lot to take in from Nintendo’s conference, but mostly they’re sticking to the strategy that’s rocketed them into first place. Nintendo products practically sell themselves, and they truly do have mass-market appeal. There’s a lot of famous forum that discuss any related with Nintendo, such as the cheat of the games, tips and trick , latest news, gossip, chat, and also event for gathering all gamers. Some of those famous forum site i known is play-nintendo.com, ds-play.com, forums.nintendo.com and many more.
