Sega Game Gear is the third handheld color game console released by Sega in Japan on 6^th October 1990. This console was released to fight Nintendo’s Game Boy. By that time Sega had Atari Lynx and TurboExpress for the handheld game console, but maybe they think it’s not enough to compete with Nintendo.

This handheld game console has a large color palette with a lower resolution screen. Sega Game Gear is different with other game boy console. The different lies on the system were held in a landscape position. The original game boy usually was portrait, and if we play the game too long, our hand maybe cramped to hold the console. Because of this position, the keypad is located on the sides so it will be more comfortable to play.

They were more than 300 games available for the Sega Game Gear handheld game console. The system was represented to make sure that a wide variety of video game genres. Some of the popular Sega Game Gear games such as Sonic the Hedgehog, The Lion King and Mortal Kombat were the popular game titles that were included Sega’s own series. You can play any games on Sega game Gear regardless of the country they were released in. And if you had the accessories like an adapter for the Game Gear, you can also play games made for the Sega Master System.

There’re total 363 Sega Game Gear games available after i checked on Wikipedia. Some of them really bring my memory back. I’d play several of them before when I was child on my neighbor’s house.

Well my favorite still is “Sonic”. But this game is really making me frustrating. Or maybe by that time I was still a child; don’t know how to control well. “Sonic The Hedgehog” is one of the popular games on Game Gear. I’d like to review this game on this article.

Sonic The Hedgehog

This game is developed by Sonic Team as a platform game for Mega Drive system. It was first launched on 1991 in Japan.

In this game Sonic is the main character. The adventure start with Sonic begins his journey to stop Dr.Robotnik that wants to collect six Chaos Emeralds in an attempt to rule South Island. So automatically there’re six zones you need to go though.

Sonic has ability to run, jump and rolling. If you want to increase the speed of sonic you can use the ability to roll. It’ll need the technique to control his movement. Once you are taking the wrong move or lose control, you’ll die many times like what I’ve been through. The levels in this game include springs, slopes, high falls and loop-de-loops, to allow the player to achieve high speeds. You’ll need power rings to keep your life on, if you runs into an enemy without possessing any power rings on you, you’ll die.

This game is suite for those players who love to play adventure games. The element of speed to the standard platform formula is included in this game with many other unique elements in each level.

What Is Nintendogs?

What is Nintendogs? Nintendogs = Nintendo + dogs. Is it dogs belong to Nintendo? Actually Nintendogs is a real-time pet simulation game for Nintendo DS developed by Nintendo on Japan. What a combination of words, “Nintendo” + “dogs” become “Nintendogs”. But this game is sure interesting and very popular on market.

There’re three original versions from Nintendogs when it’s first released, they re Chihuahua & Friends, Dachshund & Friends, and Lab & Friends. Chihuahua is a dog named under the state of Chihuahua in Mexico and it is the smallest breed dog in the world. It’s very thin and small. Unlike the dachshund, dachshund is elongated breed dog, short legged, and sometimes referred to as a “hot dog” dog (very unique to me). The breed’s name is German and literally means “badger dog”. And the last Labrador Retriever that we known as Labrador or Lab is a type of gun dog. It is the most popular breed dog in the world that mostly popular breed by registration in Canada.

Playing Nintendogs just like having your own living puppy inside your Nintendo DS. You can have a digital pet on your DS that allow you to use various items whether it’s found or purchased. This game is utilized DS’s touch screen and built-in microphone. It’s very like you’re already had a real pet; with built-in microphone, you can call your pet’s name using microphone to call them and even to teach them how to sit or roll over.

Make your dog is happy, feeding it and taking it for walks, keep them clean, play with them using many kinds of toys available are your duty on this game. When your dog is in the primary condition, you can join the dogs contest and earn money from it. After earn the money, you can use it to buy new dogs or accessories. This game is also support multiplayer system. You can trade items with other player through wireless connection. And the interesting part is the “Bark Mode”; if you switched on, your dog will bark when there’s another Nintendog is nearby. It’s very fun right?

Nintendogs received mostly positive critical reception and has won many awards since it’s first released. It gains the G33ks Bronze Award for the best Nintendo DS game, 2005 Japan Media Arts Festival: Excellence Prize, the 2006 Innovation Award from PC World and Best Handheld Game from the Associated Press, IGN: Best use of touch screen for Nintendo DS and many more.

Castlevania Nintendo 64

Castlevania is an action and adventure video game in Nintendo 64 console, which is developed by Konami’s Kobe branch on January 26, 1999 in Japan. Commonly this game was called as Castlevania 64 since it shares the same title with the original Castlevania video game.

Castlevania is the first 3D game in the Castlevania series. It features a good mix of graphics, gameplay, and the adventure of vampire slaying using Nintendo 64 library. You need to choose one of two main characters in this game; Carrie Fernandez or Reinhardt Schneider. Carrie is a young orphan with the magic powers and Reinhardt is the whip-wielding heir to the Belmont clan. These two characters will start their adventure to challenge all level and explore Dracula’s grand estate on the quest to stop Count Dracula’s impending return to power after a century of dormancy.

You’ll face many kinds of monster such as bats, skeletons, demons, werewolves and vampire in this Castlevania game. You have different kind of ways to deal with every member of Dracula’s evil army. The journey will start in an eerie forest which will lead you to various exciting haunted mansion locations. There’re 10 stages total you need to deal with starting from

3. Villa
4. Underground Waterway
5. Castle Center
6. Tower of Science
7. Tower of Sorcery
8. Room of Clocks
9. Clock Tower
10. Castle Keep

This game is a wont miss game for those vampire-hunting adventure fans. Both characters have different walkthrough and entirely different endings that are exclusive to each character’s quest.

To have the unlimited money, you need to defeat the bull in Castle Center. After you defeated the bull, go to white crystal save point and save your game. Open the large crate and you’ll receive $2000. And then save your game again and load the game to open the crate again. Repeat this action to have an unlimited amount of money.

If you’d reach the Dual Tower, you won’t see any white crystal save point there. But actually there’s a secret way to save your game in Dual Tower. Defeat one of the bosses, return to Castle Center and save your game at the elevator. And then return to fight another boss again, with this way it’ll be safer and you don’t need to keep fighting the same boss over and over again.

There’s additional alternate costume for each character after you completed the game.

As for Reinhardt, after got two crystals from tower, go to the 3rd level in the Tower of Execution, and break open an iron maiden to find an execution key. Return back down to the second level and open the gate with the key. Walk through the hallway and look over the edge to find a floating platform with another iron maiden on it. Jump down to it and break the iron maiden to get the purple jewel for his Second Secret.

As for Carrie, head to the top of the Tower of Sorcery and find a floating platform with a torch on it. Put holy water on it then hit the torch to find the purple jewel for her Second Secret.

After that, save the game and then, holding the Analog Stick Up, highlight the character that was used to beat the game. Select the character to get their alternative costumes. Reinhardt’s costume is the same as Simon Belmont’s costume, and Carrie’s costume is a school girl outfit.

You can use a basket bike once you’ve attained Pro status in the cycling, just hold down 1 when choosing you’re Mii to obtained it. The picture of basket bike can be a pizza or some flowers depend on your Mii’s gender.

Hold down 2 while pressing A to choose OK at the event on selecting Mii screen until you see the black warning. The effects will unlock many advantages on certain events, such as:

* To capture Dialga and Palkia, you need some preparation, such as:

1. Get the eighth gym badge, and HM waterfall.
2. Go to Mount Coronet.
3. Go up the waterfall, and into the secret cavern.
4. Get the two orbs that belong to Dialga and Palkia, they are inside the small cavern.
5. Talk to the elder of Celestic Town.
6. Go to Spear Pillar.
7. You will see a blue light. That’s Dialga
8. After you beat/catch Dialga, enter the Mount Coronet, then step back out, there will now be a Pink Light which is Palkia.

* How To Capture Rotom

To catch Rotom, you must goto Old Chateau, go to top floor and go to the middle room. Look for a room with a TV in it between 8PM and 4AM and then thump on the TV for him to go out. Rotom is Electric and Ghost type pokemon with level 20. Make sure you don’t use bird type pokemon to fight, just lower its health and use paralyze or sleep powder.

* Get The National Pokedex

To get the national pokedex, you must complete the Sinnoh Pokedex by seeing 210 regional Pokemon first and then talk to Professor Rowan in his lab.
