Sara Lov - Seasoned Eyes Were Beaming
Pop - One half of LA dream-pop duo Devics, Sara Lov strikes out her own with Seasoned Eyes Were Beaming, her solo debut album that she describes as "simple and sad with a shot of scotch".
Sketching fragile and intimate musical portraits with an accomplished lyrical pen, Lov also knows her way around a gorgeous pop melody creating One Tree Hill-ready songs that flutter with a graceful, unhurried sense and sensuality. Songs like the deceptively simple ballad "Fountain", with its lingering piano chords draped in her angelic harmonies, or the neo-folk "Animals", a charming duet with Sea Wolf's Alex Brown Church, offering the listener a warm and gentle sonic embrace.
"As you get older it’s harder to find beauty and innocence in anything,” Lov says. “It’s easy to get jaded and loose your sense of idealism. So, to find that thing that brings you back to your ‘young eyes’ or that thing that makes you feel excited to be alive again even though you are seeing it through seasoned eyes... even if just for a moment, it’s a beautiful thing.” Produced by Zac Rae (Fiona Apple, Annie Lennox), file Beaming between Rosie Thomas and Priscilla Ahn.
