We discovered a way to consistently 1 or 2-shot this encounter without being decked out in Gc25 gear, or whatnot. We did it comfortably with 95k dps (most people who can make it to this encounter should have something around that or more), but we could have done it in the low 90s or even the high 80s. We did not even execute the blood beasts as well as we could have. We got the I've Gone and Made a Mess achievement easily, too.

For this alternative approach we used:

- 5 healers (2 SHOULD be discipline priests)
- 3 non-tank Paladins
- bring a couple of warlocks or non-tank druids, at least, for bres/soulstone

For the two discipline priests:

- Make sure you have Grid or some other unit frame addon that allows you to track who has the PW:S buff and the Weakened Soul debuff. In Grid, you can go to 'borders' and select those two items, which will show PW:S on your units with a yellow border and WS on your units with a white border.

- Spam PW:S constantly. Keep the buff, or the WS debuff, on every single person in the raid at all times. Melee dps is your lowest priority, but ranged dps, healers and tanks should ALWAYS have it. This greatly prevents blood points the Deathbringer gains from Blood Nova.

- When someone gets Boiling Blood, check to see if they already have a PW:S on them. If they do not, and they don't have WS, give it to them. If they already have the buff, you might get lucky and see the WS debuff wear off before the PW:S buff wears off. In this case, allow the existing PW:S to absorb Boiling Blood damage, and then place a second PW:S on your target. If you pull this off, you can prevent even more blood point gains.

In the fight:

- We elected to allow the first Mark victim to die. If you have ~90k dps, you'll get through the 1.5 mil hp the Deathbringer regains in about 20 seconds. If you allow the first victim to die, assuming it's not a healer or offtank or something else valuable like that, it's the best time in the fight to take the loss of one of your people. Hopefully, the first mark doesn't come down until at least 60% health for the Deathbringer.

- When the second Mark comes down, get a non-tank paladin to hit the marked unit with Divine Intervention. If you use a holy paladin to do this, you had better have a ss or bres ready. DI will prevent all damage done and blood points gained by the Deathbringer from Mark of the Fallen Champion. If you have experience with this fight, you'll notice he gets blood points much faster if existing marks are up.

- You'll likely need a second DI ready for a third Mark victim, and a third DI ready for when the second mark victim has their 3min DI wear off. You should be able to get Deathbringer down with just the three marks, but if you see a fourth, it'll be right when he's about to die so you should be able to heal through it. We had a fourth DI ready to go, but didn't need it.

- It's also worth noting that if someone has DI up at the time of the Deathbringer's death, the DI'd target(s) likely won't get credit for the kill, nor will they be eligible for loot (verification on that?). If you have 2 di'd people when DBS goes below 5% health, have your heals ready for that. Fear not though, with 95k dps, we were able to take the death of a second marked person without much headache.
