Footage, New Interview with John Carpenter About 'The Ward'!

Courtesy of French film website Blog Didier Allouch you'll find an extremely lengthy new interview with iconic horror director John Carpenter who chats about The Ward, his highly anticipated return to the genre he took to new heights back in 1978 with Halloween. The interview begins at around the 2:50 mark and also features some behind-the-scenes footage. Starring Amber Heard (Zombieland, Many Lane, The Stepfather) and Danielle Panabaker (Friday the 13th), The Ward follows a girl (Heard) who is admitted to a psychiatric ward, meets other girls there with distinct personalities and discovers a mysterious girl haunting the halls at night. The last time Carpenter got behind the camera for a feature film was for Ghost of Mars 8 years ago, although he helmed two (excellent) episodes of "Masters of Horror" ("Cigarette Burns", "Pro-Life").

I can't wait for this film. John Carpenter is my favorite filmmaker of all time, and I am hoping for another classic!

Really wish Carpenter wouldn't get so political in the interview... But I still worship the guy.

i completely agree w/ Carpenter (on Bush) but that's neither here nor there. THE WARD looks like it's going to be REALLY good! the girl in that shooting scene Lyndsy Fonseca (Iris) is an excellent actress (at least going by that brief segment....it looks really intense!). this movie has some MAJOR beauties (Lyndsy, Amber, Danielle, etc). i am SO hopeful that Carpenter has made another classic with this!

Can't wait! And I truly hope that this isn't his final film. If only Carpenter could slip into Ridley Scott territory from here on out. Scott, who's got a good 10 years on Carpenter, has released one movie a year since Gladiator.

The master of horror is back!!! I can't wait to see the movie. The first place I thought of for a mental ward was in Weston, WV. That would be a great place for a movie. Can't wait!!!

Good comeback movie is right ... Ghosts of Mars was awfully bad, as was the Pro-Life episode of MoH. I did enjoy Cigarette Burns though. Come on John, I know you still have it in you!

Excellent? Mmmmmmno. One was dissapointing *Cigarette Burns*, and one flat-out sucked *Pro Life*.

Wow, I have not heard Carpenter sounding so jazzed about a film he has done in a long time. If he was burned out after "Ghosts Of Mars", then it explains why it was a half-assed film. I guess his heart was not in it anymore. Seeing that interview has really gotten me optimistic about this one after all. I also agree with Carpenter about Bush 100%.

Been waiting all day to see this ever since I first saw this post via mobile web while I was at work. Now that I'm home I came straight here to watch it and the video isn't showing up at all. Only the text and comments are visible. I'm running Opera as my browser. Anyone else having this issue? I really want to see this interview... ESPECIALLY if he's talking shit about Bush! :D
