That sounds like great news. First, the fish aren't going to be Pixar-like, except that they are CGI. There won't be any toothy Nemos flying out of the screen, and the CGI is sure to be geared toward realism, not toward kids-movie-styled animation. This is 2009. How else did you expect them to do the piranhas? Models on strings? Now, why is this great news? Because even when Sony "revolutionizes" home theater with their 3D TVs next year, the "revolution" is only likely to reach less than 1% of households in the foreseeable future, and mine won't be included. So, I want a movie that looks good in 2D. I'll see it in the theater for the 3D effect, but ultimately it should look good on my TV at home. My Bloody Valentine is a great example of the opposite. I loved it in the theater, and it was an enjoyable movie. But in 2D, it just looks ridiculous and cheesy because so much of the movie relied on the 3D (and used it very well).
