MYM|Delpan: Pump the whole team up!

myMYM.com caught up with the mighty Sweden Marcus 'Delpan' Larsson from the warriors of MeetYourMakers prior to the kickoff of the World e-Sports Masters 2009 in China for an exclusive interview conducted by our very own China Albert 'w067000' Wang.

Hello, Marcus 'Delpan' Larsson, please introduce yourself to our readers and your fans.

Hey everyone, like you said my name is Marcus Larsson and my nickname is Delpan. Im 20 years old and im playing for Meet Your Makers!

Nobody took it seriously when moddiii stated that you were aiming for top3 in Dubai, or Jumpy said that you were there for the Gold. However, you proved yourself by claiming second place, so are you satiesfied with your eventual result considering the two different goals?

It was our first international tournament together, and we knew we had good competition but we came prepared and we took the Silver so we were really satisfied with our performance in Dubai!

What do you think of your final opponents fnatic, which prevented you from winning the gold after de_inferno and de_train?

Fnatic is and have always been a world class team, we knew they are hard to beat but still we knew we can beat them and we did it in the groupstage, but in finals we didnt play our own game I dont know what happend, they was better..

You beat fnatic 19:11 on de_dust2 in the group stage, more specifically, you beat all the teams in Group A. Have you ever thought that the group stage was just a piece of cake? Have you ever thought that fnatic would be slow to get into shape as they used to in Dubai?

Thats correct, dust2 is one of our best maps and we showed them that we was the better team. About the groupstage, well I dont think we expected to win all matches in groupstage on our first event, specially not when it was so good teams in our group, but still we beated all teams and we cant be more satisfied..

The old Begrip (with hibb) placed third at WCG 2009 Sweden, where you lost the Semi-Final 2:1 (17:19 on de_train, 16:14 on de_dust2 and 12:16 on de_nuke) to the familiar faces fnatic. This Semi-Final combined with your performance in Dubai resulted in a theory that you are only capable of beating fnatic on de_dust2. Do you agree to this point?

Well, we had a really close match against fnatic at WCG, we had the lead on train with like 15-10 so ofcourse dust2 isnt the only map we can win against them at, we'll see in China if we play against them there :) time will tell!

What was the biggest reason that led you to lose to fnatic twice when it mattered the most? A lack of experience? Nervous? Or overwhelmed by their aggressive style when big time came?

I dont really know, it was like I said before our first international event and for all of us except zet, it was the first time we played on stage and in finals maybe someone of us was abit nervous, first time is always especially..

Which of all your victories was the most satisfying in Dubai and why?

It must been against vitriolic (AGAiN), because its the old MYM team and they was pretty lame against us ingame before the match, so we really loved to win that match so big that we did with scores 16-1 and 16-5..

Which player/players from the other team/teams impressed you the most in Dubai and why?

I really dont know, I didnt see other players.. I was just focused on my own play and my teammates..

Most of the people are impressed by your awesome AWP skill and I think you have gained more fans during the matches, are you satisfied with your overall performance in Dubai?

Im really satisfied of my performance in Dubai, its always fun with fans who appricate my awp skills..

Your team kept yelling with excitement after winning each round, what could you benefit from that? Could you destroy the mentality of your opponents?

We are not doing it to destroy their mentality we are doing it to make us more motivated to pump the whole team up!

More recently, you lost two maps in a row to SoA, which recruited Finn 'karrigan' Andersen on trial at that time. What was wrong with your internet? Had everything gone well, would you have been the winning team? Given another chance, do you have the confidence to get revenge?

Well the match against SoA was pretty lame, I had high ping all game and on train, I played with 30-80 ping CT side, still we won with 12-3 and at T side, I had 600 ping and couldn't even move so it wasn't a fair game..

After that, you lost to AGAiN in IEM4 which put you in a very very dangerous place with only 3 points after 3 matches and a 4th place in your group behind Spirit, AGAiN and mystical Lambda. What are your chances in the group?

We won against mystical so we are at third place, so we are playing against the second place in another group at this thuesday the day before we go to China, I really hope we win that game!

How does it feel to win DreamHack after beating mTw in the finals? Some people would say that you were a little lucky in the playoffs, where you just faced weaker teams until the finals compared with mTw.

It feels really good after our performance in Dubai, cant be better.. Too bad me and Jumpy is on a high fever and stuffs like that so we cant play our own game at Arbalet, but hope we are better for WEM in China, we'll do our best.. Well someone have to go that way, this time it was MYM on that side, not our faulth we still won all our matches..

I know you are having a bootcamp for the upcoming WEM 2009, who are you practicing with and how's the outcome?

Thats correct, we are bootcamping at Jumpys place, we are pracctising all days here but we are going to relax and just sleep as much we can before China this week.

Has zet totally recovered from his so-so skill after the demise of CGS?

Of course, zet is really back on track with us.. He's much better with us than he was in SK, maybe he got more motivated with us I dont know, he's playing good and thats all that matters :)

The last question is: could you give us some descriptions regarding your teammates? Both in CS and real life.

pita: our own Farok, really good and stable player, this guy uses tan lotion HAHA!

zet: same here, a really good and stable player that can do alot of damage against our opponents.. He's really funny irl :D

moddiii: our mad aimer, hes so crazy, one of the best aimer in world for sure.. Our own stallone ;)

Jumpy: the ingame leader, reads our opponents so good and he's stable aswell!

Thanks for your time, last words are yours!

Thank you, and thanks to puma and fshost, see ya in China!!
