DALLAS TWP. — A fun way to end your high school career is being honored as an all-star. That was the honor for the Wyoming Valley Conference girls softball players, taking a part in the Robert L. Dolbear Senior Girls All-Star Softball Game. The clash between East versus West and finished up with East winning 14-6.
The Wyoming Valley Conference Division I East and West division softball coaches recently selected all-stars from their respective divisions. Dallas pitcher Kristan Baker was named Most Valuable Player of the West Division, while Hazleton Area pitcher Shannon Salvaterra and Nanticoke Area pitcher Sara Bertoni were chosen co-MVPs for the East Division.
Holly Lansberry threw a one-hitter and scored the game’s only run Friday afternoon to lead Curwensville to a 1-0 victory over Old Forge in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class A softball state final at Shippensburg University.
Abington Heights wins PIAA baseball title
The Old Forge Blue Devils softball team will have a sendoff for the PIAA Class A state title game on Thursday, June 11 at 5 p.m. at the Old Forge Miles Street Community Park.
