As seen on Hachimaki.
The top portion is Super Street Fighter 4’s Jab SPD range, the bottom is Arcade Edition range. Just count the squares to get an idea of how much the range has increased.

It’s baaaaaack! These are the first day standings so do not put a lot of stock into them, but I figured it’d be interesting to take a look at them. The final original Street Fighter 4 standings are not available yet but I will get them once the official SSF4 AE site updates them. I’ll probably do these arcade rankings once a month since doing them weekly is a bit much and I don’t think would change a whole compared to doing them on a monthly basis.

Berzerk from VFDC conducted an interview with GamerBee at the Shadaloo Showdown about Virtua Fighter among other things. You can check out the video here For those who don’t know, GamerBee is a very good Virtua Fighter player, having qualified for SBO during the VF4 days, and recently remarked how Virtua Fighter 3 and 4 are his favorite games of all time.
…A game you play by pissing in the urinal. Technology is a wonderful, and sometimes very scary thing. Apparently 90% of people who tried out the game at the location test (I shudder to think how they handled that) said that they wanted to try again.
a-cho game center in Kyoto, the biggest and most well-known arcade in the city, is celebrating the release of SSF4 Arcade Edition by holding an “off kai”, or a gathering offline, from 3pm till 11:30pm on Thursday, the day that game is being put into operation. After the gathering, there will be a group gathering for drinks and socializing, mainly with the arcade players that post on Twitter. This may not be all that interesting to you at first read, but the arcade is promising to post all casual match footage to their YouTube account shortly after the session finishes. My advice is to subscribe to their channel so that you can get first day footage of the game as fast as possible!
A survey done on MyVoice with nearly 12,000 people yielded some interesting results in regards to their opinions on arcades and their image of them. The graph was too hard for me to translate via photoshop without creating an entirely new graph, so I decided to write out the results instead for the first image. As you can see, the general impression of arcades in Japan is not very favorable, with over half of the respondents answering that they believe arcades are too noisy and cost far too much money. The red bars (and red translated text) represent a negative opinion of arcades, while the blue text represent positive opinions of arcades. It’s pretty clear that for the most part, people do not enjoy going to arcades anymore.

Tokido and Mago do the community a big favor in this month’s Arcadia magazine by introducing some of the finer points of Yun and Yang. Tokido handles Yun while Mago handles Yang, and they spill some very good wisdom for all readers. Here are the main points that they touch upon, plus sample combos that they found while testing out the twins.
