Our biweekly TACV series is back with a double-feature of Street Fighter IV newcomers: Rufus and Crimson Viper.

All of your nominations have been narrowed down to 6 finalists.  Starting today, and ending at on New Year’s Day, you can vote on the forums in a poll to decide which of these six matches will be named “Shoryuken.com Match of the Year 2009″.

This is the Ryu combo video shown at Evolution 2009 and OzHadou Nationals 8 earlier in the year. As a little Christmas gift to everyone, it’s been re-encoded in high definition quality for higher resolution playback, but more importantly for higher framerate. A Famitsu Magazine summary found here indicates some new SuperSF4 information.

This translates to “Super SF4″, then it gives the date of April 1st, for 3980 yen (About 40 dollars).  The next line gets juicy, naming 5 characters. Dudley, Makoto, Ibuki, and Hakan are named from earlier rumors, and the 5th name is mysteriously only “Shadow”.  The line after that seems to indicate that Shadow throws sonic booms.  The final line is a snippet about Hakan.

The forums are abuzz about the possibility of Shadow Charlie from Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter showing up in a cannon game, but lets not forget that Seth throws sonic booms too, and is already said to be a clone (one of many!) in the story.

Until scans surface, this is rumor level stuff, but its fun to speculate either way.  Enjoy!

UPDATE 2:15am – The site has added a few more scans, and taken down most of the text that was there previously.  We’ll just have to wait and see if any info appears over the next few days, or if this was just a rumor attempt coming out of 2chan.

December has come, and one of the most amazing years in fighting game history is coming to a close soon.  This is the year that brought us console Street Fighter 4.  Tatsunoko vs Capcom.  King of Fighters 12.  Blazblue.  Tekken 6.   Certainly, a year to be thankful for as a new or old fighting game aficionado.   If you spent your Thanksgiving day being thankful for your family and friends while you ate turkey, you are not hungry enough!   The true warriors were grinding online Thanksgiving day, letting the world know what they are thankful for.  And, for the first time, we here at SRK are going to honor them.

So, without further delay, we bring to you the first official SRK Match of the Year Poll!  Here is how it works:

1.) Register for a shoryuken.com front page account and leave a comment with a youtube link to a match, in ANY fighting game, that you wish to nominate for Match of the Year.  This match must have been played in 2009, must be recorded from start to finish, and you can only nominate ONE match.  Replies with multiple matches will be ignored, and replies to this posting from unregistered users will also be ignored.  Remember, its ONE match, 2 out of 3 rounds (or 3 out of 5 for Tekken and Soul Calibur and the like), not an entire Set.

2.) Head over to this thread to discuss the nominated matches, and stay tuned.

3.) On December 26th, a new post announcing the official nominees will appear right here on the Shoryuken.com front page, along with a link to a forum poll where you, the community, will decide who played the fighting game match of the year for 2009!  The winner will be announced on January 1st of 2010.

After two months and five characters’ worth of TACVs, we thought everyone might enjoy something slightly less technical and considerably more accessible. With a little practice, all of these tricks can be performed in Training Mode with the help of the dummy Record/Playback feature as necessary.
