Gears of War added to Games On Demand

Epic shooter available via the digi-shop
Just in case there are still a few 360 gamers yet to indulge in a bit of Locust annihilation, Microsoft has added Epic's TPS (third-person shooter) to its Games On Demand service. And if you've just got an Xbox 360 for Christmas (like this kid) that means you don't even have to leave your house to buy it.

Here's the company line:

Gears of War
Price: Check pricing for your region
Availability: Not available in Japan
Dash Text: (Online Interactions Not Rated by the ESRB) This game supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Chinese. Download the manual for this game by locating the game on http://marketplace.xbox.com and selecting "See Game Manual".

A Nightmare from Below. A Hero from Within. The planet lies in ruin - cities crumbling, Man's greatest works fallen. Humanity is cornered, nowhere to run. The Locust Horde has risen, and they won't stop coming. They won't stop killing. The Coalition is desperate for soldiers. The sick, the wounded, the imprisoned are all that remain. An inmate named Marcus Fenix, once left to die, is now charged with keeping humanity alive. He can take comfort in but one fact: The human race isn't extinct. Yet.

Features
"Take cover and return fire!" with the intuitive one - button cover system to blind fire, evade, flank, and ultimately destroy the nightmarish Locust Horde.

Here's the sequel (more of the same) in action.

If it's £14.99 (like Crackdown) then I might consider it (the extra couple of quid is worth the convenience) but if it's £20 then MS can forget it.

Still my favourite game on 360, but for £20 its not worth it, especially since you can get a retail copy brand new for 10-15 quid elsewhere.

Ah I'm just bitter because I already spent £90 on this game alone; bought it for £45, played it to death, after a few months I scratched the disc so much it wouldn't work again, so had to buy another copy for another £45. It's worth £20 lads, the online is still solid and better than Gears 2's.

What a very constructive comment. Have to suggest you try the proper game then, rather than some shoddy homo knock-off Smile

£8.99 @ play.com vs £19.99 @ GOD!!

I am perplexed as what kind of idiot uses this 'service'.
