Jesse Divnich, director of analyst services for Electronic Entertainment Design and Research (EEDAR), thinks there's a chance we may see a new Grand Theft Auto title at E3 in June next year.
"I think we're going to hear about another Grand Theft Auto," Divnich told Game Informer. "I think there won't be any playable stuff. I think they'll give you some type of teaser, because we do think that a year from then in 2011 we're going to see another Grand Theft Auto."
So what does Mr Analyst think about possible exclusivity deals? "I don't foresee Microsoft or Sony attempting to obtain any type of exclusivity with the next Grand Theft Auto. Microsoft paid a lot of money for exclusivity on the downloadable content for GTA IV, which unfortunately did little to move consoles for Microsoft.
"Back in 2004, the Grand Theft Auto was a huge brand, but only relative to the other brands that existed at the time. While the GTA brand is certainly bigger now than it was five years ago, others have emerged to reach similar levels of success, such as Call of Duty or Guitar Hero. In other words, if Sony gets an exclusive deal on GTA V, it would do little to disrupt Microsoft's ability to move hardware, and vice versa."
So chalk in summer 2011 for Grand Theft Auto 5. What do you think?
Personally I think we'll see a new GTA Oct/Nov 2010 (but not GTA5).
Also, I find it highly unlikely R* will announce anything at E3. They've never used E3 to announce GTA and always give it it's own fan-fair. I'm expecting a first trailer Feb/March so it has a similar schedule to GTA4 (had it not been delayed from Oct 2007 to April 200

Yes woopdedo xbots get the DLC or buy the game with all chapters and ps3 owners are still waiting I for one think they should make the dam trophys more realist to achieve.If you have a life these trophys are not realistic to get and please what about non internet using players they get stiffed with a 65% completed trophy bar make 2 slots for trophys online and off
imagine all these rumors coming true this year, that means we'll get wii HD, killzone 3, gta 5 and god knows what else. the year is already packed with quality. who knows what'll happen.

As much as I don't want xbox players to miss out on gta5. I really wish they would use the full benefit of Blu-ray. If they created the whole liberty city/cars/characters/cut-scenes all in HD on a dvd-9(8.5gb) imagine what they could do with 50gb.

oh yus, tis why im curious too see what they can do with agent as its ps3 exclusive and they can get more out the game with ps3 and blu ray
Well i heard Rockstar had plans for 2 more episodes before doin 5 with the last 2 episodes PS3 bound so i cant see GTA 5 till at least mid to late 2011.
unless it uses a different engine, it could show it up i fear.

should be plenty of IV DLC to occupy until then. ps3 will probably get the first two eps at some point. and i heard there was others too, like an irish one.

They (R* North), are finished with IV now though, at least thats what they made out from the last bit of DLC (TBOGT). GTA IV is done, no more stories from that city, a brand new city with the same Engine will do for me though .
I'm not expecting to see GTA5 until at least late 2011 so if a teaser trailer were to appear at E3 it's unlikely to tell us anything useful, apart from the fact it's coming (which is a dead cert anyway)
I just hope they put the fun back into the next one. Whilst I enjoyed GTA4 I think it lost the humour of previous episodes and some of the missions were tedious at best (anyone want to go drive across the whole city just to take a friend out for a beer for the 1000th time?, thought not)
