Twitter

From Mibbit

Jump to: navigation, search

Mibbit can connect to a number of services, including Twitter. Currently support is small, but working. To get on, go to the Home tab and look for the following box:

Place a username and the corresponding password of an account that was created at the Twitter website, and hit the go button. A tab that says "Twitter" shall open a tab that shows the most recent twenty messages that the account has followed. The input bar allows a person to send messages through Mibbit, and Mibbit periodically updates the new tweets.

Clicking on the username of a tweet will write the user's name into the input bar with an @ before it. So, if a tweet looked like "Havvy: It is now raining outside.", and a user clicked on the part that says "Havvy", in the input bar, it will show "@Havvy". This works even if the pref "Click on nicks to insert (IRC)" is disabled.

Also, using commands in the Twitter tab is not possible. This means that /me does not work. If you try using it, the client will respond:

<Twitter>: Message not sent. Use // if you really mean it.
