Microsoft's product management director, Aaron Greenberg, reckons Halo Reach will own 2010, laughing off the challenge from PS3 exclusives. Gran Turismo 5, for example.
"Is it launching next year? I've seen years and years of minigames, but I haven't seen that the game is done," said a clearly confident Greenberg of Sony's flagship racer.
"They just released the PSP version -- maybe that's what they've been working on. I feel confident that there's nothing that will compare in size. Halo: Reach will be the biggest game of 2010."
Greenberg goes on to explain why 360 will dominate 2010. "We will do three things well. One, we will continue to offer a better value on hardware pricing ... Two, we will have more games, more blockbuster exclusives, no matter the genre," he told Gamasutra.
"Three, you add all of the entertainment and social network. That's our focus, to keep adding more and more value. Consumers vote with their dollars, and so far it's been paying off, and we feel confident about next year as well."

Actually, I'd have to say that I would expect Reach to be the top selling game next year - it's Halo, it's bound to sell millions (I won't be buying it myself, however). The only thing that may beat it would be something on the Wii.
Having said that, it's stupid for someone like Greenberg to mock a company like Polyphony - it just ends up making him look like an utter buffoon. I don't think that too many GT fans care if it beats the Halo: Reach sales figures (or vice versa), so he's basically trying to wind up a non-existent situation.

To be honest, in my own opinion, Halo games are nothing more than a averagey FPS that have great multiplayer features. How he can rip a Driving SIM game when he is trying to defend an overly extended game i have no idea.

I'm pretty sure GT5 will be a great game and I can't see Halo Reach being more than milking the franchise to death, ODST wasn't great either IMO so this had better blow everything else away, MS could always ship it on 3-4 discs to optimise that though!!

Reach is a Prequel. based on the first Halo book Fall of Reach, which is an amazing book. and i recomend reading it.

For example neither of those two titles will be the game of 2010.
If you guy's have worked in the gaming industry, you would know much better titles are on the way, Okay both are good (more Gran Turismo than HaloTripe) but games such as Alan Wake, Heavy Rain, and of course titles that we have seen glimpses of this year, such as Beyond Good & Evil 2.
All of which earn a much healthy "Next-Gen" title rather then the two he stated.

It's kind of ironic coming from Greenburg saying there were two less than impressive Halo games from Microsoft this year. Maybe they were only mini games.

They guy was asked directly by gamasutra whether GT5 would be bigger (god knows what this actually means) than Halo Reach, he gave them an answer.
Remember the guy works for MS, he is hardly going to say 'Oh I think GT5 is a great game, yeh it will be bigger than Halo'...
To be truthful, if Halo Reach is a new game (not an extended add on) then I might be tempted to get another 360.
It's been ages since the 360 platform released decent exclusive titles, unless you solely dig online gaming for L4D2 (a sequel to a year old game which uses the exact same engine with some newer ideas).
In fact on Xbox 360 in 2010 we had an online co-op game L4D2, the Halo ODST extension, GTA4 download content but one proper full AAA title in the shape of Forza.
On PS3, I picked up proper full AAA exclusive titles in the shape of Killzone 2, Infamous, R&C CIT, Uncharted 2 and imported D Souls this year on PS3 (how people claim that their PS3 just collects dust is unbelievable) so I think MS are sweating that 2010 is going to be the same, especially since GT is one of the PlayStations most treasured and profitable franchises.
It only makes sense to show they're worried about GT by comparing it to their own treasured and profitable series, Halo as any other reason makes no sense.
Mind, the Xbox 360 has done really well to hold its position and the Ł50 price average is still a benefit on its part, shame about the additional purchases not advertised, the Live fee, the wireless router etc etc. It does hold a better community (probably because of the included headset) but PSN pretty much beats Live hands down everywhere else.
Well I know I'll be buying GT and not ANOTHER Halo game...

They have added a few services to XBox live that they think stand out, all of which are accessible through th PS3 web browser.

PSN trounces Xbox Live, with its free online browser to stream videos, BBC iPlayer, Vidzone, rent or buy the latest movies, help treat and cure diseases, Home, the biggest online arenas, 30+ Killzone 2, 60+ Resistance 2 and 250+ MAG and best of all, its free!! Its mainly enjoyed by hard working adults who can afford the slightly higher cost of the machine.
But Xbox Live does have cross game chat and party chat and um ... thats it! Unless you enjoy forking out for Sky lol on top of that you have to pay a fee!!! Its also mainly enjoyed by 13 year old immature boys who cant afford a PS3.
