I really, really love Stargate. I really love the idea of yet another shooter. Even a generic one set in the SG universe! But this looks sooooooo last gen. Gutted!
Sooo.. have they scrapped the Stargate Online MMO in favour of an online deathmatch game? You know, just use the combat model of the MMO and scrap the rest?
Not that I had any real hope for the MMO. It sounded like a bad WoW clone - grinding for gear, loot and money just doesn't spell "Stargate" to me.
(I don't hate WoW. It's just that not all MMO's have to be carbon copies of it. Seriously, developers, try something creative for a change!)
At least it happens in the first SG series, though. Atlantis was meh, and Universe is just insanely boring.
"This new title is the fruit of what we've all worked on in the last few months." A few months in development? That's short, even shorter than those lame Movie-Game tie-ins which are rushed out to cater for the kids. No wonder this looks a little... poor.
