Dante's Inferno, EA's action-brawler, got a demo release over in the US on PSN this week and to celebrate, EA has pumped out these brand new screenshots from the game.
The eight screens are taken from the 'Gates of Hell' demo which is confirmed for release on Christmas Eve on the US Xbox Live. Us Brits await any kind of ETA although, to be fair, who cares when you can just make US accounts and download the demos anyway, as we're always saying.
We have to say Dante's seems to be shaping up rather nicely judging from these screens. Your thoughts?
This looks ok, but Im actually starting to fall in love with Bayonetta. I cant stop playing the demo learning new combos. The torture moves are just to good, the guillotine is amazing.
Its just action sadly also some exposed breasts (always a bonus) my gf wondered what I was playing on. She actually liked bayonetta more because the female lead. I loved the first boss in Dante's inferno demo took a few tries to until I got used to the controls and didnt button bash like I would with gow3 or bayonetta.
The demo is good, I got it from US store last night, it's a very polished GoW clone with interesting story and setting but I think there can be only one God of War! Roll on February and March

Cheers, shame as I would like to hear/see more about the adventure side. This is high on my list though.
"Darksiders" sounds like it may be right up your alley then, Wolf. Both of these games are high on my list with "Darksiders" edging "Dante" out just a bit. I've started to warm to "Bayonetta" but she remains in third place.
Downloaded and played it last night. That was the first time I got properly angry at a game.
Not from difficulty or anything like that, but from how much it's like a re-skinned GoW game. It really p**sed me off, it's like it has no identity of it own. From the control scheme to the overall look.
They have the same kind of quick time events for certain enemies, except you start it with R2.
Even collecting health and experience is basically the same. It comes in the form of fonts, you press R1 and hammer O (GoW press R2 hammer O or hammer R2).
A huge disappointment for me, I expected much more from Visceral. If you want GoW but don't have a PS3 you will be happy enough.
I think I'll give the demo another go, maybe it'll grow on me.
I downloaded the demo but I can't help comparing it to God of War III - the way some items are use and even some of the moves are similar. Won't stop me from buying it though - ultimately I loved the demo! Think it looked stunning as well!
Its a reskinned GoW, which is fine if you like that kind of thing. BTW Dante was born in 1265, years after 1191, so..yeah, nice research there team. Why did they see the need to reduce one of the greatest poems in literature to a hack and slash game? They could have made something with a bit more depth.
Anyway anyone who claims this is superior to Bayonetta either dislikes those types of games or is deluding themselves. If you want this type of game, wait for GoW3 if you have a ps3. Otherwise, it may be what your looking for on a 360.
The demo wasn't too bad, although it's basically a GoW rip off using the same locations as AC 1 & 2 (Acre, Jerusalem and then Florence, Italy), the names from DMC (Dante and Virgil), but is also set in hell, so atleast the last part is new.
I'm not sure what the reviews will be now, as they'll probably take the GoW rip off (amongst other thing) into consideration.
Bayonetta was better imo and atleast GoW III is out next year aswell.

Maybe they just wanted to copy Assassins Creed's timeline/location, it's funny how it's first set in Altair's timeline/location and then Ezio's hometown of Florence, italy. Coincidence?
Who knows, Dante does seem to come across as a cross between Altair and Milliardo Peacecraft...okay not so much the latter, i just wanted to make a reference to your name.
Good guess, I didn't expect anyone to know where my name came from, It's both Wing Zero and System (the Gundam and its Zero System btw).
To me he's like three character's in one, Kratos (GoW), a Templar Knight (AC) and Dante (DMC), ok the latter is name only especially with them having the name Virgil aswell.
Ye olde mobile suit of the kid who stole Heero Yui's name. The original design was god awful, at least they redid it for Endless Waltz, but still..I much prefer the Red Astray design or Crossbones.
That said, that machine is god mode in SRW.
Its an odd coincidence considering i received Record Senki 0081 in the post yesterday.
1. Ain't a kid and it's Heero Yuy. 2. I prefer the series version (at least it transforms) over the Custom, what's the red Astray and Crossbones design? 3. How's Battlefield Record 0081? I'm tempted to get it but I'm hoping they release an english version.
Actually its Hiro Yui in japanese, but you were right for English Translation...not that it matters
Red Frame Astray is from Gundam Seed (erghhh) Astray side series manga and shorts, appears in Super Robot Wars W and has a badass Katana.
Crossbones is the X-XM Crossbone Gundam from the series of the same name. Based upon the F91 design seen in that, sadly confusing, movie.
The original Wing suit is a pale imitation of the Zeta wave rider form, which it was based upon. I think it got some of its own personality in the Ova.
Hiro is 15 in the series and 16 in the Ova..so i think that qualifies him as a kid.
As to Senki 0081: I have yet to really get into it. Its mostly shoot or slice everything type gameplay. The HD anime is awesome though. You can upgrade your suits etc. I just prefer the Gundam Battle games on the psp, which are inferior to the macross ones. You want to play a gundam game, get a psp and Gundam Battle Universe.
I really doubt they'll release a English version though....its a good gundam game. As much as i love DWG2 i cannot say that its a good game. But its got Domon in it so who cares?
oh and second hand off ebay, bit pricey at Ł34. Otherwise Ł48 first hand. I'd wait for a while to see a drop. Online is supposed to be great though.
Hi, I know all about Heero Yuy, he's my fave character (along with his gundam), I own all four Gundam Battle games and Macross:Ace Frontier (I need Ultimate Frontier ) and will probably order Gundam Battlefield Record 0081 (Kidou Senshi Gundam 0081) on tuesday.
I only know of Strike/Freedom and Destiny from Seed, I've not seen any Crossbones Gundams but I know what the F91 is and have you read the sidestory to Gundam Wing? It's set (if I remember) on a Space Colony somewhere in space in the Gundam Wing universe, they mention Trieze and (again if I remember) the five Gundams, they get there own Gundams.
I have all the Manga's to that series and I need a few more Gundam Wing one's, btw Endless Waltz is both a movie and a 3 part OVA, the movie is longer and has extra scenes.

The only differences between them is Wing Zero can transform into somekind of jet and the Custom has Angel Wings (fits better with Epyon though, as that has Devil type wings). What's the HD anime, is it the movie you could get free with the game, or is it in game cutscenes?

Ultimate Frontier is well worth the money, actually, anything with Basara and Fire Bomber in it is well worth the money..but yeah...its a great game.

Im not much into the AC timeline, I prefer UC (as in the original series canon) over Hiro and Co, and I view 00 as superior to Wing Gundam. Though anything is better than Destiny. Crossbones is the manga which comes after F91, including most of the characters.
btw Endless Waltz is both a movie and a 3 part OVA, the movie is longer and has extra scenes.
Yeah i know, i just tend to think of the Ova cause i saw that first.

I have both Models behind me on my shelf, though the Custom Kai is a wonderful kit.
What's the HD anime, is it the movie you could get free with the game, or is it in game cutscenes?
You cant get the movie, and its only 6mins long or something, it has to be downloaded on psn. The anime is in game and very cool. I really want that new translation blu-ray. Hopefully Unicorn will be on Blu-Ray.
I have a Smallish Wing Zero and Master Grade Wing Zero Custom, (I'd like the perfect Grade but it's too expensive), I'm definitely gonna order Gundam 0081 next week, I may also make an Asia or Japanese account (depending on what version I buy) to download some of the DLC Mobile Suits for it.
Ultimate Frontier will have to wait until next year.

Oooo now I have a feeling I'm getting my titles confused, doh
