Harmonix sheds 39 jobs

Rock Band developer reveals staff cuts
Harmonix has shed 13 per cent of its workforce in order to stay on target and maintain its product development plans.

The cuts are said to have been made in its QA and administrative departments.

"We can confirm that 39 positions were eliminated today at Harmonix as part of re-structuring to better align our staffing to best suit our product development plans and schedules moving forward," a Harmonix spokesperson told IGN.

I hope this is just a minor restructuring and not Harmonix falling on hard times. I'd hate to see such a talented dev go under. It's no coincidence that the Guitar Hero franchise took a nosedive in quality since Harmonix moved over to EA. Though admittedly Activisions shameless milking of the series has a lot to do with it too.

Didn't they recently announce that there'd be no more DLC for the PSP versions of RB? - it could just be those linked with that project, perhaps.
