Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver screenshots

First English language screens
Pokémon fans in the UK will be looking forward to the Gold and Silver remakes out next year. The HeartGold and SoulSilver games have been released in Japan where they have sold over 2 million copies but we'll have to wait until Spring 2010 to get our hands on them in the UK.

By small way of compensation you can check out the first English language screenshots below...

HeartGold and SoulSilver are redesigned versions of the decade-old Pokémon game. The action will take players back to the Johto region where they'll have to battle against Team Rocket and catch 'em all over again.

The remakes do feature some differences from the original though, the visuals are up to Platinum standard and there is a redesigned Pokédex which should make it easier to flick through your Pokémon with the touch screen.

Looking forward to the new Poké titles? Let us know in the comments field below.

while being one of the best RPG's ever made, i don't think i can bring myself to ever play pokemon in public .. like ever... Not that i personally own a DS, but i think you get my point.

I do hope this retains the magic of the original as Gold & Silver were the best in ther series alongside Blue & Red (including Crystal of course - which'll we'll probably see a remake off too).

I'll probably be buying one of the two (most likely Heart Gold), even though I do some day want to own every version Laughing

I hope they dont have any of the newer pokemon in it - what i liked most about firered and leafgreen is that it was just that era of pokemon to catch and i dont like diamond a pearl as 350+ pokemon is just ridiculous

If I do get a DS, which is likely what with the Okami sequel being a DS exclusive, I'll probably get the Silver version instead of Gold, because I already own the Gold version, and that was about 10 years ago. I hope nothing is lost in translation, it'll be fun either way.

Passerby Boy? My memory seems to tell me that this guy was known as Pokemon Thief, silly censors.

Just a question that im unsure on but, like the original, will it be possible to return to the very original setting once Johto has been beaten?

One of the reasons why i enjoyed Gold and Silver the best was becuase of this pleasent surprise and so i will be hoping the same thing happens with the remake Smile
