Activision countersues No Doubt

Band Hero publisher stands its ground
The battle between Activision and No Doubt continues, with Activision filing a countersuit alleging breach of contract.

It's being reported that Activision has accused the band of failing to do its due diligence on the videogame before signing away its digital likeness.

The band is said to be unhappy with the fact that their avatars can appear in in-proper forms (Gwen Stefani virtual character perform the Rolling Stone's "Honky Tonk Woman" in a male voice, for example). The band says its agreement with Activision didn't cover these features.

Activision says that Band Hero allows players to unlock in-game characters and that these features have been "publicly known" since the first guitar hero was released. The band also participated in the motion-capture for the game.

The publisher says No Doubt is failing to live up to contractual obligations to promote the game. "Since the band is allegedly failing in that regard, Activision believes that No Doubt has 'obtained benefits from its inclusion' in the game and wants the band to disgorge all payments and pay damages," reports The Hollywood Reporter.

These bands need to get their head out their bottom and take a step into the real world, she has to be the most average looking flat chested girl and is worried about her image in a game???. Not like a hot coffee mod etc.

Umm i think Activision need to check their comment again because they are talking BS.. yes you could unlock other characters in the first two games but they were only made up ones they were not anyone famous hell they didn't even have master tracks or motion capture for the first two games so that arguement goes down the crapper..

I think they are worried that young people will get confused when Gwen sings someone else's songs with a man's voice...and that might damage their sales and credibility.

Then again its not far from the truth in some peoples minds, given there was reports she was previously a man....and no doubt (sorry about the pun) they have bled someone's ideas for songs somewhere along the line...

Just musing whilst working... Very Happy
